As a kid, it was stories, drawings, toys, characters, and whatever else I could dream up. That desire never really went away.

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked across branding, campaigns, packaging, digital, and visual systems for brands including BMW, Petco, Axos Bank, and plenty of others along the way.

But the part of the work I care about most happens before the design. Figuring out the idea. Finding the point of view. Imagining what something could become, then building it until it feels like it was always meant to exist.

That might mean shaping a brand, developing a campaign, telling a story, designing a package, illustration, or creating something entirely from scratch.

I live in San Diego with my wife and kids. I still miss real seasons.
 

I like good design, things with character, espresso, and movies where a guy gets thrown through a window and calmly straightens his collar afterward.
